They’re Better Than Me - and That Was Always the Plan

The last few weeks have been an absolute whirlwind.
First, a trip to Blacksburg to watch Raegan earn her Master’s from Virginia Tech - an incredible milestone. And just last night, we celebrated Reese graduating from Ridgeview High. My mind is racing, my heart is full, and my body? Completely worn out.
I am mentally exhausted.
Emotionally proud.
Physically spent.
But more than anything - I’m grateful.

I’ve raised three remarkable children. Each of them wildly different. Each of them full of heart, grit, and a kind of wisdom that humbles me. They’ve made better choices than I did. They’ve accomplished things I only dreamed about. And they’re building lives grounded in purpose, passion, and strength.
They are better than me in every single way.
And that? That’s exactly what I prayed for.
My hope for their future is simple:
That they continue forward with purpose and direction.
That they never lose their hunger to learn, to grow, and to explore.
That life doesn’t weigh them down the way it sometimes did me.
And when the road gets hard - as it will - I pray they have the strength to keep going.
But if all else fails?
I hope they always remember the way back home.
There will always be a warm bed to rest their heads...
And supper on the table.
