Have I Run Out of Things to Write About?

When I first started blogging, the words just poured out of me. I was constantly putting pen to paper - thoughts tumbling out one after another. It was exhilarating. As soon as I hit “publish” on one post, I was already chewing on the next idea.

Some nights at 2 a.m., warm coffee in hand, I'd write two or three posts in a row - full of emotion, grit, and realness. The ideas kept flooding in.

But now?

Now I’m unsure.

Honestly, I’m a little lost.

Have I run out of ideas?

Have I said all I know to say?

I’ve written about our dogs, my mental health, my fitness journey, my daughters graduating, my photography… What’s left?

I said this to Jelane tonight, and he shrugged and said, “It’s your journal. Write about whatever you want.”

And that’s just it - I want to. I just don’t know what to say.

I even Googled “interesting blog topics” like I was cramming for a test I forgot I signed up for.

But let’s be real: I don’t think I’m the one to tell you about fashion trends for 2025. I could try, but there wouldn't be much of my usual rawness behind a blog like that. (Can you imagine the sarcasm I'd have to suppress?) LOL.

So is this the end of my blogging? Or just a writer’s slump?

I feel like there’s still so much I want to share - but I can’t seem to wrangle it into something that feels blog-worthy.

Maybe this is where all those years in the professional world finally come in handy:

Create a spreadsheet.

List out the topics.

Break each one down into bite-sized pieces.

Start writing, woman.

Actually… that’s not a bad idea.

Funny how writing this little blog about not knowing what to write may have just solved the problem.

Sorry to rush off… but it’s off to Excel I go.
